A Place To Call Our Own

I am currently enjoying some down time with a cup-a-tea and muffin after a huge weekend. Shawn and I recently scored the apartment we were hoping and praying for (weehoo!). We couldn’t be happier or be feeling more blessed at this point. It all happened the week before last; we placed our application in on Wednesday afternoon, and by Friday morning the place was ours. We picked up our keys last Friday and have spent the weekend moving all our furniture, kitchen supplies and Shawn’s things in.

It’s a wonderful feeling knowing we have somewhere to call our own and to start our marriage in. It’s such a perfect little place for us, with just the right amount of space and suits our retro/vintage style to a tee. It has beautiful timber floors throughout, a funky 70’s /80’s style kitchen with black and white checkered vinyl and a pink and yellow bathroom! A bit way-out, and a little run down in places, but it’s freshly painted and we love it. I can’t wait to share some photos with you all once we have it looking less like a garbage tip.

We have been completely baffled by the amount of blessings we have received during this time. I don’t think we have paid more than $10 for any large piece of furniture or appliance that we own, and probably 70% of our things were given to us for free. I am astonished that we actually have a full apartment, there may even be a couple of things we will have to get rid of! God is incredible, when we pray and ask for things in times of need, he not only gives us what we need but also keeps blessing us abundantly until we are overflowing. What a loving, and faithful Lord we serve.

Shawn officially moved in last night and I really cannot wait to join him. It might be a bit quiet around here on the blog over the next month as we have our American family arriving in less than two weeks and then it’s full steam ahead until the wedding. I am still yet to reveal our honeymoon secrets but they are coming!
